Hydrovac Services> The process of Hydro Excavation, the only non-destructive method of digging, utilizes pressurized water and a vacuum system to quickly and safely expose underground infrastructure. During the hydrovac process, pressurized water is injected into the ground through a handheld wand loosing the soil, allowing the waste to be extracted.
Geo-Thermal> Relating to the internal heat of the Earth. The water of hot springs and geysers is heated by geothermal sources. Geothermal energy is power generated from natural steam, hot water, hot rocks, or lava in the Earth’s crust. In general, geothermal power is produced by pumping water into cracks in the Earth’s crust and then conveying the heated water or steam back to the surface so that its heat can be extracted through a heat exchanger, or its pressure can be used to drive turbines.
Irrigation> A well intended to produce water for uses other than human consumption, to include, but not be limited to, lawn and landscape watering and agricultural uses.
Domestic> Any well used or proposed to be used to supply water for domestic needsother than public.Includes water used for irrigation ofnon-commercial use. Domestic water is used for indoor and outdoor household purposes. Municipal> Water supplied by a town or city for public use; tap water. Usually held in a reservoir. Water that has been processed at a central plant to make it potable or “safe to drink”, which is then distributed to homes and businesses via water mains.
Stock> Ready access to clean drinking water from sources such streams, ponds, springs or wells. Used mainly with grazing systems, well-designed watering systems protect soil and water quality while improving livestock health and productivity.
Dewatering>Dewatering can be defined in two ways. It is the process of lowering the water table level at and around a particular contract site. Dewatering also refers to the removal of groundwater usually bypumping or evaporation, which then allows the contractor to carry out the works specified in a relatively dry environment.
Solar Powered Pumps>a pump running on electricity generated by photovaltaics. The operation of solar powered pumps is more economical and has less environmental impact. Ideal for areas where electricity is not availbale or unreliable.
Conductor> A large diameter pile that is set into the ground to provide the initial stable structural foundation for a borehole or oil well. This casing, sometimes called drive pipe, is generally a short length and is sometimes driven into the ground. Conductor pipe is run because the shallow section of most wells onshore is drilled in unconsolidated sediment or soil rather than consolidated strata typically encountered deeper.
Cathodic Protection Wells> A technique used to control the corrosion of a metal surface by making it the cathode of an electrochemical cell. The simplest method to apply CP is by connecting the metal to be protected with another more easily corroded “sacrificial metal” to act as the anode of the electrochemical cell. Cathodic protection systems are used to protect a wide range of metallic structures in various environments.
Test holes> Orientation wells, or test holes, are drilled to study the geological structure and history of major geo-structural elements that have been little studied, and also to provide a scientific grounding for the most promising trends in geological prospecting for oil, gas, and other minerals.
